Above is a scene from a dress rehearsal for the opening show of our 2010 season. Had a little trouble with the lighting cutting off the heads of Tom and Bob but it was all in fun!

MUSIC THEATRE WORKSHOP Seasoned performers as well as newcomers join together to create exciting musical revues onstage at the Roxy! It takes a lot of hard work, long rehearsal hours and perseverance to put together a show. That's why we make sure to include time for play. If we can't enjoy ourselves then the theatre and the performances become work.
"We have so much fun together" said Marla Acevedo. "Everyone is so talented. If you don't know how to do something, someone is there to teach it to you."
"I've had the greatest time being in shows with Sandra and the rest of the cast. I actually perform alot, with Chameleon - the Band, several area t.v. pilots and my work with KERA.
I enjoy shows at the Roxy because we (the veterans) can work with some really great upcoming performers and see some real growth in their talent" remarked Bob Allen.
AUDITIONS - March 12 @ 7:30pm Auditions are held on a regular basis. The next call is Monday, March 12 beginning at 7:30 pm on the Roxy stage in the Arts Alliance, 4000 Pioneer Road #201A, Balch Springs, TX 75180. Bring a head shot, be prepared to read cold script and sing 16 bars each of an upbeat song and a ballad. Call 972-557-1555 or email Sandra Wood for more information.
IMPROV at its' finest... Jeff Poteat brings his own special brand of comedy to the Roxy stage. His cutting edge, fast-paced humor keeps everyone guessing - even the other performers. What is improvisational comedy - you might ask? Simply put, it is comedy without a script.
"The cast has a script that they follow, memorize and prepare for public performance. Jeff, however, is simply given a rough draft, bare-bones outline of his character. Everyone knows this and expects the 'unexpected' during rehearsals and performance. And Jeff never disappoints us. In fact it's quite contagious. By the final show of a performance cycle everyone in the cast is trying their hand at 'improv'." cited director, Sandra Wood.
